My past experience includes retail management roles with major department stores in Chicago, Miami, Denver and Boulder, Colorado. I started my Real Estate career in Lakeland, Florida in 1993 serving Central Florida with the purchase of new home construction and residential sales.
I am currently a Board Member and President of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Lakeland Metro Chapter, and a member of the Lakeland Association of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council of Realtors. I am also certified by the National Association of Home Builders as a New Home Sales Professional.
I attended Oakton Community College in Skokie, Illinois and was inducted into Tau Beta Kappa National Honor Society. While living in Illinois and Maryland, I have also served as an uncompensated literacy tutor and assisted clients in obtaining their GED.

What brought me to this point...
I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree and attended Middlebury College, School of Language for Spanish. After I graduated, I moved to Miami, Florida where I worked for a multi-million dollar developer, Ugo Colombo. After many years in beautiful South Florida, I made the move for a slower pace of life, to Lakeland, Florida. I joined Byers Professional Realty in January 2002. As of August 2003, partner Cathy Esses and I teamed up to form Esses & Hotze Realty, LLC. In addition to my Broker status I have furthered my real estate education completing the Graduate Realtor Institute program. Owning and operating a real estate brokerage allows me the freedom to personalize each transaction, best suited to the needs of my customers.
My thoughts on Lakeland, Florida...
Florida is a very cosmopolitan state with a multi-cultural dynamic. Polk County, especially Lakeland, is a well kept secret offering affordable housing with all the benefits Florida living has to offer. We can expect this "secret" to catch on as urban areas like South Florida, become more expensive. Lakeland's hospitality and quaint neighborhoods offer a charming setting for people moving into the area. One could never feel "landlocked" as Lakeland offers an abundance of lakefront properties, including many in the picturesque "Historic Districts."
